Shower Enclosure Quality Standards-Design

We are proud to have several inspired and creative designers. Shower Enclosure Quality Standards-Aluminum Parts

The aluminum alloy, known to be a type of light metal, only has a density as low as 2.7×10 kg/m3, which is only 34.61% of that of iron, and 30.33% of copper. However, its strength is relatively high, close to or even better than high-quality steel.

The aluminum has excellent formability, so it can be processed into materials in various forms and specifications. Through heat treatment, the materials will obtain ideal mechanical properties, physical properties and corrosion resistance. They are mainly used in the manufacture of aviation equipment, daily necessities, doors and windows, etc. The consumption is only second to steel. 

Grade 6063 T5/T6 aluminum in line with GB/T 5237.1-2000 national standard is used by us. Some of our aluminum suppliers created an upgraded version of 6063 aluminum, named as 6463. The 6463 is made by the fine adjustment of silicon and copper contents, so as to improve brightness and strength. Because the 6463 aluminum costs more to produce, it is mainly used in OEM, ODM of luxury brands.

Shower Enclosure Quality Standards-Glass

Toughened glass and laminated glass are two major types of wall panels of our shower enclosures. They are characterized by high impact strength, high flexural strength, good thermal stability, and smooth finish. They are in line with GB9963-1998 national standard and CNCA-04C-028: 2001 Implementation Rules for Compulsory Certification of Safety Glass Product.

1. Toughened glass: also known as tempered glass, is made by heating glass to a certain temperature and then quickly cooling it or performing chemical treatment on it. The result is that a compressive stress is formed on the glass surface. This stress will be offset first when the glass surface is exposed to external stress, thereby the glass will be better at load capacity and tensile strength.

There are two main advantages of toughened glass. The first is the high strength which is several times greater than that of ordinary glass: the bending strength can be threefold to fivefold; and the impact strength can be fivefold to tenfold. The security increases with the strength. The second advantage is that with improved carrying capacity, the glass is hard to break. Even in the worst case, a damaged tempered glass will not result in sharp pieces and cause serious injury.

2. Laminated glass: the glass has a transparent plastic film sandwiched between two or more pieces of ordinary glass. It is a composite glass bonded by hot pressing into flat and curved forms. It excels at transparency impact resistance, and mechanical strength. Thanks to the role of the plastic lining, when the glass was shattered, only radial cracks will show, and there will not be falling debris that hurt people.

Note: according to GB9963-1998 national standards, the particles of a broken 50mm ×50mm square glass should be not less than 40 pieces, small enough not to hurt people.

Shower Enclosure Quality Standards-Strips

Waterproof capability is an important factor in our structural design. We make sure that the whole structure is well-ventilated without awkward twists and turns. In addition, smartly we use magnet strip and gel strip to improve water tightness.

Made of imported material, our strip has all the properties higher than industry standards and national standards. The raw materials of the strips pass strict ROHS compliance testing, and contain no harmful substances. Our strip is able to remain in its original color after 24 hours’ UV tube color fastness experiment,and work normally after aging tests. Also, it shows excellent resistance to pulling and temperature, with no cracks in coldness. Of course, a good sealing performance is a must.

In product design, we effectively integrated the strip into the whole structure, mainly in the following areas:

1. all the contact sections between glass and aluminum are mounted with soft gel strips, the safety of glass the stability of the whole structure are guaranteed;

2. for most of our products, we add soft gel strips to the edges of aluminum parts, so that there is no need to use glass sealant any more, which reflects the ease of use and environmental friendliness.

3. the water retaining strip of pivot door is designed to have a slope which enables faster and easier water guide.

 

Shower Enclosure Quality Standards-Plastics and Wheels

Ally’s wheels go a step beyond competitors in the following aspects:

1. The wheel has imported POM rubber coat. So the wear resistance, as well as resilience and cracking resistance, is significantly improved.

2. The roller bearings are sourced from professional manufacturers and the grooves are made by professional grinding machine. In comparison, an ordinary one is made by lathing, and the precision is obviously not good enough.

3. We are the first manufacturer who take 440 (9Cr18Mo) stainless steel as the material of roller bearings in China. It is an expensive material, so now only a very few companies are using this material.

Note: The 440 (9Cr18Mo) stainless steel is the standard bearing material. Some other manufacturers may be known to use 304 (0Cr18Ni9), which is actually inappropriate. Although 0Cr18Ni9 is better at rust resistance than 9Cr18Mo, however, because the 9Cr18Mo has better machining properties, so it is 9Cr18Mo which can be made into better wheels.

 

Shower Enclosure Quality Standards-Hardware

Here we mainly refer to copper fittings and shower faucets.

1. Brass: H59 copper (a brass) is used by us. Its chemical composition is: Cu% 57-60%; Fe <= 0.3%; Pb <= 0.5; Ni <= 0.5; total impurities <= 1.0, the balance being Zn. The composition can be simply understood as that the H59 copper is a synthesis of 59% copper 40% zinc, and that is how this copper gets its name. The H59 copper has good strength and a certain corrosion resistance. It is the most cost-effective choice for bathing equipment.

2. Stainless steel: the stainless steel for our bathroom use is 304 (U.S. and Japanese grade, the corresponding Chinese grade is 0Cr18Ni9). The 304 steel can meet requirements in most areas, but some coastal areas have particular need to use 316 (0Cr17Ni12Mo2) for anti-rust purpose. We mainly use 304 stainless steel in our products.
